The Iowa Hawkeyes survived their game against the Iowa State Cyclones thanks to a solid fourth-quarter performance by the offense and defense. The Iowa State cyclones actually had a 14-10 lead going into halftime. Third quarter is where things started to change. A few minutes after the cyclones added a field goal to their lead, the Hawkeyes put together an impressive 80 Yard Drive that ended in a touchdown, which tied the game.

As time was expiring in the first quarter, Sun Devils running back, Ryan Torain carried the ball 8 yards into the end zone.

The Penn State Nittany Lions got back on track by beating up on the Youngstown State Penguins. Penn State didn’t get out of the gate too well. After the first quarter the score was tied at 0-0. It looked like Penn State was going to struggle with the Penguins when after almost 6 minutes into the second quarter the score was only 3-0. The big break came nine minutes into the second quarter when A.J. Wallace broke a run for 76 yards, which resulted in a TD.

The new AP poll is out and Ohio State is still ranked number one. They received 59 first-place votes. As usual there are a couple surprises this week. First, Miami has dropped completely out of the top 25. This week’s top 25 has two new teams. Clemson, fresh off their victory over Florida State, has been vaulted from 26th place to 19th. Boise State also crept into the AP poll at number 25.

This battle top 25 teams got off to a slow start in the first half at the half the Oregon Ducks were winning 13-6. The second half, especially the fourth quarter, was full of fireworks. After three quarters of play Oklahoma had a 20-13 lead. They scored 14 unanswered points in the third quarter. The fourth quarter was action-packed from start to finish. Both teams combined to score 34 points in the final quarter.
