Former NFL Quarterback Shaun King Signs With Las Vegas Gladiators

Recently the Las Vegas Gladiators and former NFL quarterback Shaun King came to terms on a deal. While Gladiators Coach Danton Barto announced the deal, he didn’t discuss the terms—it’s team policy.

In 2000, Shaun King was on the cusp of going to the Super Bowl. Earlier this season he was let go from the Indianapolis Colts due to salary cap issues. The Gladiators are pleased to have him on board.

“Shaun King is a veteran quarterback who should adapt to the AFL game quickly and make us better immediately,” Barto said.

King was 14-8 as an NFL starter and should do fairly well in the Arena Football League setting. The Las Vegas Gladiators were a disappointing 5-11 last season. After their 8-8 2005 season, much was expected of them. King might be one piece of the puzzle that will get the Gladiators back to respectability.
