California QB Suspended

California’s quarterback, Steve Levy, was suspended indefinitely yesterday by the team. He’s a senior quarterback who led the team to a couple thrilling victories at the end of last season. He’s been arrested on felony assault charges. He’s a suspect in an alleged bar fight.

The reason the fight is felony assault is because he allegedly used a pint glass as a weapon—a deadly weapon. According to Sgt. Neville Gittens of the San Francisco police department, Levy “picked up the glass and hit the employee in the face.” Levy tried to flee from the crime scene, but was detained by citizens until the police arrived.

He was expected to compete for the starting job this season, but it looks like the battle for the job just got a bit easier. If convicted, he will be going away for a little while.
