So, just what is going on over at the football program for Florida State? On Friday, the team dismissed on of their fastest players, Kenny O’Neal. He was a wide receiver and return specialist. According to Coach Bobby Bowden, Kenny O’Neal was released for “conduct detrimental to the team.” This might not seem like much, but this is not the only incident.
In January, freshman receiver and return specialist, Fed Rouse, was removed from the team for the same reason. Following him was offensive lineman, Cornelius Lewis—again, for the same reason. Is everything alright in Seminoles land? It sure does not appear that way. There’s also news that cornerback Trevor Ford is going to transfer out of Florida State—he’s announced it already.
Ford is a sophomore at Florida State. There’s no indication where he’s trying to go, except that he wants out of Florida State. Last season, Florida State won their conference—Atlantic Coast Conference. All of this could be a move to clean up the team or it could be a sign of what’s to come. The removals and transfers look to be limited to lower classmen. None of the main players on the team have jumped ship yet. We will keep our eye on this situation.
