Rushing to Jail

It never fails. Every year we hear about college football players getting in trouble with the law. This time it’s Thomas Clayton. He’s the leading rusher for Kansas State. On Friday, he was convicted of a misdemeanor batter conviction. Last September he struck a parking services employee with his car and now he must pay for this incident. He has been suspended by Kansas State for one game, because of the conviction.

More importantly, for Clayton, he could be looking at jail time and a fine. According to reports, he might be sentenced for up to six months in jail, which would cause him to miss his Senior season. Additionally, he might be looking at a $1,000 fine, but that is minor compared to the jail time and losing out on your Senior season. He will for sure miss the Kansas State season opener against Illinois State on September 2nd.
