It was just the other day, during the NFL draft, when Johnson was beaming with pride, because the Panthers just selected Dwayne Jarrett from USC. "This guy is much like me," Johnson said.

Patriots Get Moss and Get Super Bowl XLII Odds Reduced

Let me just go on record right now and say that the New England Patriots won't win Super Bowl XLII. Five seconds after the trade for Randy Moss was announced, many NFL analysts crowned the Patriots as Super Bowl champs. The line for the Patriots winning Super Bowl XLII was at 9-1 before the trade. Seconds after the trade the line dropped almost in half to 5-1. Will Randy Moss make this much of an impact? Nope.

Miami Dolphins Pick Who?

With the 9th overall selection in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select . . . You could hear boos the second the Dolphins' first pickâ€”number nine overallâ€”was announced. With almost all the college players available, the Dolphins took Ted Ginn Jr., WR, from Ohio State. Was a player who's best contribution might be as a return man worth the #9 pick in the 2007 NFL draft, especially for a team with other needs?

Brady Quinn goes to Cleveland Browns

Yesterday was bittersweet for Brady Quinn. I heard many pre-draft interviews with him and Quinn thought he was going to be a top 1-3 selection. I never thought so, but you have to give the guy credit for confidence. It was painful watching team after team pass up on Quinn and then seeing the depression set in. When Miami passed on Quinn with the 9th overall pick, I was a little shocked. It's not like they have a solidified QB situation in Miami. But, in the end, all things were made right when the Cleveland Browns, Quinn's childhood team, traded up and selected Brady Quinn 22nd overall.

2007 NFL Draft – Round 1

The first exciting day of the NFL draft is over. They got in three rounds in just over 11 hours. Here are the NFL selections for the first round in the 2007 NFL draft. There were definitely some surprises and some questionable selections. As expected, the Oakland Raiders picked a QB as the #1 overall selection and they took the QB (JaMarcus Russell from Louisiana State) that most NFL draft gurus predicted.

AFC Playoff Preview: New York Jets at New England Patriots

At 1 p.m. Sunday the New York Jets are going to battle the AFC East Champion New England Patriots. These teams split the regular season meetings, so this time it's for keeps. In week 2 of the NFL season, the Patriots went to New York and beat the Jets 24-17. In week ten, the Jets returned the favor by going into New England and betting the Patriots 17-14.

AFC Playoff Preview: Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts

Thanks in part to a magical ending the 9-7 Kansas City Chiefs and new coach Herm Edwards are in the playoffs as an AFC Wild Card. Time to celebrate? Nope. Their first game will be a tough challenge as they head into the RCA Dome to face the AFC South Champion Indianapolis Colts, who are probably still thinking about last year's playoff debacle.
