The 9-3 Baltimore Ravens head into Arrowhead Stadium to face the playoff hopeful 7-5 Kansas City Chiefs. I must admit that I’m a looking forward to this game a little less after watching the Cleveland Browns beat the Chiefs 31-28 in overtime.

The Baltimore Ravens have quietly risen to the top of the pile in the AFC. While Ravens QB Steve McNair isn’t having a stellar year, he’s doing a good enough job to help the Ravens win games. The Ravens are coming off a trashing of the disappointing Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs, at Arrowhead Stadium, will pose a greater challenge.

Despite getting knocked off in Cleveland last week, the Chiefs are still in position to snatch an AFC Wild Card spot. It’s going to be tough. After the Ravens, the Chiefs go to San Diego, Oakland, and then come home to face Jacksonville. The rest of their schedule, except for the Raiders, will be tough.

The bottom line is this. If the Ravens win, start planning for the playoffs. If the Chiefs lose, they’ll be on the outside looking in come playoff time. I’m not looking for a blowout here. Both of these teams are going to wage war.

My pick is the Chiefs. While I think Baltimore is a good team, I don’t think they can compete with the Chiefs in Arrowhead in December. Here’s a fast fact for you. Over the past four years, the Chiefs are 10-2 at home.
