In this year’s NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles took QB Kevin Kolb out of Houston in the second round.

The media has been all over this selection and what it means for McNabb. Is this even a story?

So what? They selected a QB. Since the most important position on the team is the QB position, shouldn’t teams work to get solid depth?

The Eagles no longer have Jeff Garcia in the wings. It’s not like they are telling a proven NFL QB like McNabb that he’s going to be replaced by some college QB (Kolb). Yet, the media keep spinning and spinning.

I think the real piece of news was Donovan McNabb saying that he was shocked by the selection—being interviewed on WIP-AM. Shocked, really?

How insecure and out of touch is McNabb? It’s not like he’s been healthy his whole career.

The Eagles took a QB in the second round to help build depth in case McNabb goes down again.

McNabb has played eight seasons in the NFL. Do you know how many of those eight seasons he played all 16 games in? If you said three, you are correct.

The last time McNabb had a 16-game season was 2003. Last season he played in 10 games, and in 2005 he played in nine games.

So, the Eagles aren’t saying that they want to replace McNabb. They are realizing that he’s only been fully healthy a few times in his career.

When healthy, McNabb has good stuff. In 10 games last season, he threw 18 TDs, 6 INTs and had a passer rating of 95.5.
