It’s been a magical season for the Saints who are playing in their improved stadium. They started the season fast out of the gate, but many felt they would wane as the tougher opponents came to do battle. Well, 13 games this NFL season are under their belt and the Saints keep on marching. They are now 9-4.
Yesterday’s game was supposed to be an NFC playoff preview. The Cowboys, at home, were supposed to keep showing the world that they are for real. I guess, the Saints were supposed to just be glad to be there. Nothing happened as it was supposed to.
The Saints clobbered the Cowboys 42-17. They put up back-to-back 21-point quarters in the 2nd and 3rd. Reggie Bush rushed for 125 yards and 1 TD. He also had 37 yards receiving. Yes, he should have been the first pick by Houston and we’ll keep mentioning it this whole season.
Drew Brees had a monster game. He threw for 384 yards and 5 TDs. The NFC is a bit weak this year and the Saints are looking as good as any NFC team. Plus, the Saints are just fun to watch.
Next up for the Saints is the Washington Redskins. They’ve got a great chance at climbing to 10-4. The Cowboys need to win one more game most likely to sneak into the playoffs—two at most. They are facing the struggling Atlanta Falcons next week. If the Cowboys’ defense doesn’t play better, it won’t matter who they are playing.
