Saturday kicks off Wild Card weekend in the NFL. Most NFL analysts agree that the NFC is wide open this year as no team is consistently dominating.
At 8 p.m. EST Saturday the 9-7 Dallas Cowboys take a stroll to Seattle to play the 9-7 NFC West Champion Seattle Seahawks. While the Cowboys are limping into the playoffs, the Seahawks are looking around to see who’s not hurt.
This is one of those games that you could flip a coin and pick. USA Today picked the Cowboys to win 34-24, but they are off their rocker. They admitted that both teams were pretty equal and gave the Seahawks the edge in special teams and the Cowboys the edge in coaching.
I don’t agree with their assessment at all. If anything, the coaching is equal. Their logic is faulty at best. They said that Parcels is better, because he won 2 Super Bowls and Holmgren one. However, we all know the Seahawks were robbed in the last Super Bowl. Also, Holmgren reached the Super Bowl with his current team, Parcells hasn’t and has been a disappointment.
The Seattle Seahawks also have the edge with the 12th man at home. The crowd will be loud and the Seahawks play much better at home. Despite their injuries, I don’t see them getting too far behind—if at all.
This is one of those games that could be 6-3 final or 42-38. I’m picking the better team, which happens to be at home. The Seattle Seahawks will win.
